Who holds the items
At launch the founder of Nicest is the interim custodian of the founding collection, holding each item as bailee for its holder in an insured private vault in London. A professional custodian will take over as the collection grows; holders will be told before any change, and their ownership is unaffected.
How items are kept
- Each item is stored separately and labelled with its token number and asset-record fingerprint.
- Cels and paper are interleaved with archival tissue and stored flat, away from light, at stable temperature and humidity.
- Coins stay in their grading-service holders.
- Condition reports are kept with each item and updated when it is handled.
Insurance
Each item is insured against loss, theft and damage for its latest appraised value, with the holder as loss payee. If an item is lost or destroyed, its token is retired and the insurance proceeds are paid to the holder at the time of loss (Token Terms A8).
Audits
An independent audit at least [annually] checks every item against its record. Summary results are published here.
| Date | Scope | Report |
|---|---|---|
| 11 Sep 2026 | Full count of all 12 items against asset records; condition spot checks on 4 items | Summary on request |
| 14 Mar 2026 | Full count; storage conditions (temperature, humidity) review | Summary on request |
If Nicest stops operating
Items are held on trust for holders under the [Trust Deed] and are not part of our estate or the custodian’s. If either becomes insolvent or stops operating, the trustee will appoint a successor custodian or arrange delivery of every item to its holder (Token Terms A9).
Taking delivery
You can take any item you hold out of custody. See taking delivery.
